Trauma & Sports Knee Surgery
Dr Marcus Simonian manages a broad range of orthopaedic trauma and sports injuries in both adults and children, with particular interest in sports knee surgery and lower limb trauma. His approach focuses on restoring stability, movement, strength, and confidence while helping patients safely return to work, sport, and daily activities.
Marcus treats a wide range of sports knee conditions including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, meniscal tears, patellar instability and dislocation, cartilage injuries and ligament injuries. He understands that every patient has different goals, whether returning to elite sport, recreational activity, work, or simply everyday function. Treatment recommendations are tailored accordingly, and not all injuries require surgery.
Where surgery is appropriate, Marcus uses modern evidence-based techniques combined with structured rehabilitation planning. He works closely with physiotherapists, sports physicians, and rehabilitation teams to support recovery and safe progression back to activity.
Marcus also manages acute fractures and traumatic injuries involving the lower limb, including injuries around the hip, femur,
knee, tibia, ankle, and foot. In children, he provides care for both lower limb trauma and selected upper limb injuries and fractures, recognising the unique considerations associated with growth and developing bone.
His trauma practice emphasises timely assessment, careful planning, and clear communication throughout treatment and recovery. Marcus appreciates that injuries can significantly affect mobility, independence, family life, work, and mental confidence, and he aims to support patients through every stage of rehabilitation.
Whether managing a sporting injury, fracture, instability problem, or complex trauma, Marcus focuses on achieving durable outcomes that allow patients to return safely and confidently to movement and activity.
